Flat-Topped Vase with Ear Handles
Signed Toyochika
Cast in bronze and chiselled on the handles with crosshatching and patinated with patches of coppper-green and reddish brown
8 1/4 in. (21cm.) high, 13n. (35cm.) wide
With wood box inscribed and sealed by the artist's son, Takamura Tadashi, and dated July, 2003 and a letter written by Takamura Tadashi certifying the authenticity of the vase and dating it to the Showa 30s (1955-65)

Takamura Toyochika was designated Ningen Kokuho (Living National Treasure) by the Japanese government in 1964.
