Teisai Hokuba (1771-1844)
a kakemono, in sumi, gofun and colours on silk, depicting two beauties in a boat sailing across a river, one beauty standing at the helm, holding a fan and gazing upwards to the sky, the other leaning over the side of the boat trying to collect water in a cup -- 39½in. x 16¾in. (100.4cm. x 42.5cm.), signed Teisai, sealed Hokuba ga, mounted, framed and glazed.
