Description

Constructed from Pearwood with 14 oval topped astragal glazed windows and a central glazed door, the central portico incorporating a triangular pediment over 4 cylindrical columns, the side wings of this house have hinged opening fronts which incorporate two opening mahogany doors inlaid with ebony or box wood, the central oval room floor is decorated with a painted twelve pointed star beneath the central dome, the dome cover is constructed from sheet iron with a brass gallery at its peak, behind the central oval there is a another room with access from double opening doors from the rear of the pavilion, connecting rooms from the central room have a cross pattern painted on the floors. It is believed that this pavilion was modelled upon Ickworth House near Bury St. Edmunds. Standing on original pearwood stand.
