685. GEORGE H. THOMAS (1816-1870) Union major general, "The Rock of Chickamauga", Thomas led at Chickamauga, Shiloh, Atlanta and Franklin. Partly-printed D.S. "Geo. H. Thomas Maj. Genl. U.S.V.", 1p. folio, "In the Field", June, 1862, a muster roll of twenty non-commissioned officers and privates "employed on extra duty as mechanics and laborers", most of the group being teamsters from Ohio, Indiana and Minnesota regiments, boldly signed at bottom. Very good. $250-300
