Three Female Portraits:

Attributed to Ethel Easton Paxson (American, 1885-1982), Mother,
signed, dated and titled "PAXSON/1913..." l.r., watercolor on paper/board;
Student Reading a Book, inscribed and signed "Jules C...ume" in pencil, possibly in the artist's hand, and inscribed "...JULES CHEAUME" in a later hand on the stretchers, oil on canvas; American School, 20th Century, Portrait of a Woman Reading in a Study, unsigned, oil on canvasboard; sizes to 14 x 10 3/4 in. (35.6 x 27.3 cm), each framed.
Condition: Mother with toning and paper losses to edges, trimmed board; Student with craquelure, frame liner abrasions, subtle canvas deformations, minor surface grime; Portrait glued between beveled and backing mats.

Provenance: From the collection of Frank Cook Adams, Boston, Massachusetts.
