Description

1) Framed oil painting of Captain Joseph Burger, Medal of Honor winner and father to Supreme Court Justice Warren Burger, by C. Gregory Stapko, depicting the Captain in uniform with his medals. In a gold painted frame, 30 inches wide and 35 inches tall. Consignor notes attribute the painting to the office of Justice Burger. 2) Framed print, "Second Minnesota Regiment at Missionary Ridge" by Douglas Volk. 23 inches wide and 17 inches tall. The 2nd Minnesota was Burger's unit at the time of his Medal-winning actions. 3) Framed reproduction award certificate for the Medal of Honor, made out to Captain Joseph Burger, for action on 15 Feb 1863. 12 inches wide and 19 1/4 inches tall.
