For three powder-blue-ground
famille-verte vases of slightly larger size than the present example, see Henry Trubner,
American Exhibitions of Chinese Art, Los Angeles County Museum, 1952, p.114, nos.352-353, from the Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Worch Collection, New York. Another pair of bottle vases are illustrated in
Important Chinese Export Porcelain from Kangxi to Jiaqing, The Chinese Porcelain Company, New York, 1999, pp.28-29, no.14, where the authors note that the brilliant tone and depth of the powder-blue glaze was first discovered in the Kangxi period and that the process required glazing the colored enamels first, and while the body was still humid, the painter would blow the cobalt-blue glaze through a bamboo tube, covered with gauze.
