Tom Feelings 1933 - 2003 2 original pencil sketches highlighted in browns from Maya Angelous book "Now Sheba Sings the Song" published in 1987. Pages 52 & 49 are the original artwork. The verso of the sketch on page 52 is a dedication from Maya Angelou to Carol, Merry Xmas 1987 & signed Angi. N.B. Tom Feelings was an artist & illustrator, through his works, he framed the African American experience, the most famous of which is the middle passage, he was also the recipient of a grant from The National Endowment for The Arts. Maya Angelou is an autobiographer & poet & was a member of the Harlem writers guild in the 1950s, was also very active in the civil rights movement & served as a coordinator of Dr. Martin Luther King. 10" x 8"
