Lot 6: TORII KIYONOBU, (1664-1729)

Sanogawa Mangiku as a courtesan seated in a toy boat rowed by two kamuro, Iro and Iha, who hold a besom to simulate the action of boatmen, a pair of shamisen tied together to improvise the prow whilst a screen in the background is decorated with a river scene in an unidentified play performed in Kyoho 4 [1719] at the Nakamura-za, publisher's mark of Komatsuya, signed Torii Kiyonobu hitsu

Condition Note: Good impression, wormage along left margin but otherwise in good condition
