An Embassy from the East-India Company of the United Provinces, to the grand tartar Cham emperor of China... English'd... by John Ogilby.

London: The author [i.e. Ogilby], 1673. Folio (42 x 28cm). Title in red and black. 17 engraved plates and maps only (of 20). (Lacking additional engraved title, 3K1 torn with loss, 2H1 and 2Z2 torn into image without loss.) Contemporary calf, covers panelled in blind, spine gilt (worn).

PROVENANCE: Benjamin Hyett (Painswick House, Glos., armorial bookplate). Second edition. Wing N-1153; cf. Lust 536 (variant collation).

London: Tho. Johnson for the author, 1671. Folio (385 x 250mm). Title in red and black. Engraved allegorical additional title (cut-down and mounted), 38 engraved map and plates only (of 40), illustrations.

Some browning and old staining, occasional small tears, four plates torn with some loss. 18th-century sprinkled calf (worn).

PROVENANCE: Cathcart of Carbiston, Pitcairlie, Fifeshire (armorial bookplate). First edition in English. Wing M-2484; cf. Lust 525 (variant collation).
