Description

Two ink drawings by English artist William Thomas Horton, 1864-1919. (2) 10½x7 ink drawings on paper, both signed lower right. 1 framed.
Rare original ink illustrations by W.T. Horton. One drawing captioned on rear "The Forest Lovers, Maurice Hewlett." The other - not examined out of frame - is captioned "Hokey Pokey" in the image. Horton was a disciple of Thomas Lake Harris' "Brotherhood of the New Life" and a close friend of W.B. Yeats. Yeats and Horton collaborated on "A Book of Pictures" (London: Unicorn Press, 1898). Horton also contributed illustrations to "The Savoy." See W.B. Yeats and W.T. Horton: A Record of an Occult Friendship (Humanities Press, 1980). Ray 325.
