TWO IRIDESCENT GREEN-GLAZED WARES

Han Dynasty

Comprising a
hu of pear shape supported on a tall flaring foot, the body with bowstring bands at the midsection and shoulder, and divided on the sides by molded
taotie-mask fixed-ring handles below the waisted neck and flaring cup-shaped rim; and a steaming bowl with flaring sides and everted rim and pierced at the bowl center with five holes. (2)


Hu:12 5/8 in (32.1cm) high;
Bowl: 7 1/2in (19.1cm) diam


Condition Report

Vase: Earth encrustation and some glaze losses and kiln adhesions.


Bowl: Chips to the rim edge exposing the red pottery beneath and some glaze losses.
