with Galerie Claude Aubry, Paris, Dessins des Ecoles du Nord, 1974, no. 38 (as Flemish School, 17th century, with a note that an attribution had been proposed to Jan Jansz. den Uyl)

Notes

Klotz was a very accomplished landscape draughtsman with a distinctive, charming style, whose works do not perhaps enjoy the reputation that they should. In particular, his more freely executed landscape sketches, such as this example or the recently sold View of a Watermill near Maastricht,υ1are of excellent quality.
