Walter Jeffords wrote to the artist on September 24, 1951, from his estate in Glen Riddle, PA: "Dear Mr. Flannery, The boys in the stable tell me that you made a sketch of one of the Airedale dogs and suggested putting it in the picture of Adile. I would like this very much and am writing in case I should miss you at your show this week. Very sincerely yours, Walter M. Jeffords."
