Vesta D. Morehouse (American/New York, Mid-20th Century) "New York Harbor View", 1945, watercolor on paper, sight 14-3/4" x 20", signed lower right "Vesta D. Morehouse". Glazed, matted and presented in the original polychromed frame; the verso bears envelope with old Brooklyn framing label and annotation: "1945 - Watercolor painting by Vesta Morehouse - Lower entrance N.Y. Harb. as ice breaks in Hudson flowing into East Rv. from Brooklyn Hts.". Reference: Davenport's "Art Reference and Price Guide" and Falk's "Who's Who in American Art." Note: Morehouse, a Brooklyn artist, was a member of the American Watercolor Society from 1942 until 1966.
