Victor Ekpuk's work explores drawing as an independent genre that is not a support for painting. Color in this case is used when needed to support the drawing. His current drawing project is investigating the aesthetics of African graphic symbols as abstract forms. Ekpuk received a Bachelor of Art degree from the University of Ife, Nigeria, where he studied painting. His works can be found in private and public collections in Nigeria, the United States and Europe, including the World Bank in Washington DC and the Newark Museum in New Jersey. His work has also been exhibited throughout the US, and in China, South Africa and Europe.
