Condition Report

Condition: Good
Condition Details: To the unaided eye, the piece looks to be in good condition. Under ultraviolet light there is fluorescence of artist's pigments that varies most likely due to different brands of the same color paint. There is some inpainting outlining an apparent tear that has been professionally lined in a restoration to repair this tear, approximately 3 by 3 inches in the center of the canvas. This restored area shows to the naked eye only with extreme directional light. The piece is framed in an antique gold frame, possibly the original carved frame. The frame is in good condition with normal wear. Brass plate: Study for Moorland Gorse and Bracken, 1915 Wm. Victor Higgins (1884-1949).
