Engraved titles, engraved frontispiece Engraved throughout with titles, frontispices, 94 archtictural plates, 36 engraved vignettes, and engraved text by P.E. Babel. (Inkstain on verso of plate 10, some pale browning.) Contemporary marbled calf, gilt spine (front joint partly split). Provenance: acquired from Rossignol, 1983. A finely engraved edition of Vignola's "Regular Architect," first published in 1563. Babel's suite of 36 vignettes first appear in this edition. Cohen-de Ricci 1015; Guilmard, p.174.
