From his early figurative works of the 1960's, Viswanadhan's work today has moved toward abstraction, where his primary concern is in the handling of space. His bold yet tremendously ordered brushstrokes done in casein (a phosphoprotein of milk) reveal his definition of space, which is 'material, tactile and sensual.'.
