Stamp of the Parisian clothier on the canvas.

On stretcher frame stamp of the collection Goudstikker, Amsterdam with no. 2411.

This work was identified by VAN HAM Fine Art Auctioneers as one of the paintings that was looted by Herman Göring from the Dutch art dealer Jacques Goudstikker in May 1940 shortly after he fled from the Netherlands.
In September 2013 this work was restituted to Goudstikker's sole heir, Marei von Saher, who consigned it to VAN HAM. We would like to thank the previous owner and Marei von Saher for making this restitution possible.
