Inscribed to reverse 'This painting by William Teulon Blandford Fletcher was presented to the Community of Our Lady's Convent, Abingdon by his daughters, Christine and Rosamund in 1983...he was a parishioner of St. Edmund's Church...by 1921 he had sold his last painting 'Abingdon from the towpath' to his brother, and wrote to his tax inspector 'Unfortunately the vogue for my special kind of work has all but ceased'.
