A scenic landscape, with the horizon line fading into a blurred vision, reveals the slightest sight of dawn. The sun has always been an iconic symbol in Wang Pan Yuan's artistic language. Calling for eternity and embracing ceaseless vitality, the sun still rises after the darkest night. This notion is conveyed through Wang's kindred spirit despite the political turmoil and hardship he lived through.

Born in Jiangsu province, China in 1909, Wang graduated from Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts in 1936 and eventually settled down in Taiwan due to the War at the time. His one-of-a-kind artistic style reveals a constant solitude and a deep nostalgia for his hometown. Moreover, one can also perceive Wang's humble yet persistent personality in his work. In Sunrise ( circa 1990s), the use of watercolour suggests the artist's implicit message as a literati, through which the viewer is surrounded by an indescribable inner peace.

眼前翠綠的風景，地平線看似以散焦的視點浮現，遠方漸漸露出微微晨曦。太陽一直是王攀元繪畫風格的經典符號。代表永恆的太陽，象徵著無限的生命力，在黑夜過去後依舊冉冉升起。此意念印證著王氏歷經戰亂、刻苦人生經歷時，不斷鼓舞自己內在意志的原動力。

王氏於1909年出生中國江蘇，1936年畢業於上海美專，因戰亂輾轉來台定居。他獨特的創作風格透露出孤寂和鄉愁，以及看待人生處之泰然、不屈不饒的胸襟。畫面上的水彩筆觸隱射出文人的思緒，沿著王氏的痕跡我們看見了一種寂靜安寧的心境。
