"The Prayer Release...," watercolor on paper, 215 x 280 mm, signed, dated 1980, depicting a horse throwing a jockey, matted and framed.

A rare example of an original cartoon by Calvin and Hobbes creator Bill Watterson. This example done the year he graduated from Kenyon College and began working as a cartoonist for the Cincinnati Post. A presentation note taped to the backing paper, dated December 25th, 1980, provides a biography of the then young artist. We find no examples of Watterson's original artwork at auction.
