Weedon W Grossmith (1854-1919) (CG), SHELLING PEAS Signed l.r, oil on canvas 41 x 53.5cm Grossmith trained as a painter, but was unable to make a living from it. He gained success as an actor and playwright, but is best known for his collaboration with his brother, George, as a writer and illustrator for the 1892 novel, 'The Diary of a Nobody'.
