Later edition of Wells' double-hemisphere map of the modern world (platemark 2), first published in 1700 in A New Sett of Maps both of Ancient and Present Geography... This map was meant as a companion to Wells' map of the ancient world published in the same atlas. Wells, a mathematician and geographer taught the young dedicaté the Duke of Gloucester, who died in 1700 at the age of 11 just as the maps were first published.
