NOTE

Dr. Hans-Ulrich Beck has kindly informed us that this drawing's Helmolt Collection inventory number of 797 falls within the range of those that he gave to drawings acquired from Ploos van Amstel, so although the drawing does not bear that collector's mark or inscriptions, it was almost certainly in his collection.
