Wilbur Adam was born in Cincinnati and received his early education under Frank Duveneck, Herman Wessel and other familiar teachers, eventually moving on to Chicago to settle. This work was likely a commissioned painting from the family in Maysville.

Accompanied by a buisiness card from Wilbur Adam, with title of painting inscribed on reverse and studio address at Highland Avenue in Cincinnati. Excellent condition.
