dressing table mirror, 1858 ebonised wood, the adjustable mirror of rectangular bevelled glass within a border of shaped rectangular and circular panels of bevelled mirrored glass, between two uprights above shallow drawer decorated with panels of coloured hardstone, the silver drawer pull with openwork monogrammed heart-shaped pendant handle the handle with maker's mark 'EE', London, 74.5cm., 29Din. ht by 56.75cm., 22Din. width The mark on the drop handle is possibly that of the firm of E. & E. Emanuel. Provenance: Designed by Burges as a wedding gift to the Reverend J. A. Yatman of the Hall, Winscombe, in 1858.
