WILLIAM F. BARRY(1818 - 1879) Union brigadier general who served as Chief of Artillery for McDowell and was with Sherman on the March to the Sea. Good content A. L. S. "William F. Berry", adding rank, 1p. 8vo., Fort McHenry, Baltimore, Md., Oct 3, 1878 to the famous Civil War photographer Frederick Gutekunst of Philadelphia. In part: "...The box containing the framed and stereoscopic pictures of [the] Aztec club reached me today...I wonder that you could make so good a picture under circumstances so unfavorable...". Near fine."
