Portrait of a Young Lady with Gold Earring and Portrait Miniature; together with an American School, 19th century, Portrait Miniature of a Lady signed l.l. Doyle and dated 1809 watercolor on ivory (each) 33/4x31/2in. overall ; 5 1/8x4 3/8in. overall, the second the Doyle miniature in later Victorian carved album frame (2) NOTES Born in Boston, William M.S. Doyle worked there as a portrait, miniature, pastel and silhouette artist until his death in 1828.
