Provenance: Freeman's, Philadelphia, 15 November 2017, lot 160 William White, of Philadelphia, was the first and fourth Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church in the United States. He was also the first bishop of the Diocese of Pennsylvania. He served as a Bishop from 1787 until his death in 1836.
