Notes

The son of the famous sculptor William Theed The Elder, Theed followed in his father's footsteps studying at the Royal Academy. He worked as an engraver of medals and dies for postage stamps and also executed profiles of Queen Victoria for De La Rue and the East India Company. His documented sculptural work includes numerous heads and busts of his contemporaries.
