Large oil on canvas valley scene shows a foreground with cows standing in a small pool of water while other rest on grass covered field. Houses and a town line a river with mountain backdrop. White cloud and blue sky. Signed lower right "W Walton". Housed in its original gilt liner. Marked on back of stretcher "William Walton 1843-1915 Hudson River, Newburg, N.Y.". SIZE: 30" x 50". CONDITION: There are five cross taped patched to reverse of canvas and one slit just above mountains. Surface dirt. Some old inpainting corresponding to patches.
