CASPAR WISTAR (1761-1818) American physician and anatomist, an early promoter of vaccination who also developed a set of anatomical models to assist with the teaching of anatomy of human remains preserved by injecting them with wax. A.L.S. 1p. 8vo., [n.p., n.d.] to fellow physician C. F. Buck advising that Buck's resignation had been presented to the managers of the Philadelphia Dispensary and had been accepted and that the managers had in turn thanked Buck for the "faithful manner" in which he had performed his services.
