Lot 152: Wladimir Schepansky, Watercolor on Paper Signed

Wladimir Schepansky, (Polish-Canadian 1895-1985) Watercolor on Paper Signed, dated 1961. Schepansky studied art at the Imperial Academy of Art in St. Petersburg, Russia. He lived in Finland, Sweden and Paris, where he won many prizes for his artwork, eventually immigrating to Montreal in 1948. Working in oil and watercolor, his subjects included streetscapes, buildings and landscapes. His work is of very high quality with his own unique recognizable style. He also designed theater sets and ballet costumes while living in Paris. PROVENANCE: Private collection, Montreal, QC 21 x 16 inches, within matting
