NOTE

Yefim Ladyzhensky created expressive compositions that mostly referenced the sights, sounds and bustle of life in the Ukrainian port of Odessa where he was raised. His narrative pictures, painted in a deliberately primitive style, demonstrate both charm and an authentically independent vision. Many of his works are inspired by the Jewish stories of Isaak Babel.
