Description

Yolanda Fusco (NY, Czech Republic 1920 - 2009) Oil on canvas of a street scene. Inscribed verso.Size: 20 x 16 inches, unframed. Born in Czechoslovakia in 1920, Yolanda Fusco came to New York City at the age of ten, and she started painting at the age of twelve. She studied at the Art Students League with Ernest Fiene, Harry Sternberg, and Vaclao Vytlacil, and also studied textile design at Pratt Institute. She then worked in textile design, and taught art clubs and adult education. She married a chemist and had two children. She first visited Monhegan at the urging of artist friends in the summer of 1959 and became a founding member of the Women Artists of Monhegan Island. She died in Scarborough Maine, August 2009. The Estimate Prices are based upon various factors including prices recently paid at auction for comparable property, condition, rarity, quality, history and provenance. Estimates are prepared well in advance of the sale and subject to revision. Estimates do not include the buyer's premium or sales tax.
Any property purchased through auction will not be refundable, returnable, or exchangeable, and that no refund will be issued under any circumstances. The last sentence constitutes Sarasota Estate Auction official policy regarding returns, refunds, and exchanges where credit or debit cards are used.

Sales Tax

Any in-house bidders or online bidders who reside in the state of Florida are charged a 7% sales tax. Please email us a copy of your Florida Resale Certificate to have tax removed.

Condition Reports

The import and export of goods may be subject to authorisation (export certificates, customs authorisations). It is the buyer's responsability to check which authorisations are required.

The buyer may not take receipt of any lot until such time as he/she has paid all amounts due in full delivery of the goods.
In the event of a payment by cheque or bank transfer, delivery of the goods may be deferred until such time as the payment has cleared.
In this case, storage costs shall be borne by the buyer and TAJAN shall incur no liability whatsoever in this respect.
