Ink and colour on paper; ink on paper, two fan leaves mounted as hanging scroll
Inscribed and signed Fei'an Yu Zhao, with a dedication and one seal of the artist. The other fan leaf inscribed and signed Zhang Daqian Yuan, dated renwu year (1942), with the same dedication and two seals of the artist

款識:
擬宋人法大意,似琴齋先生屬畫指教,非闇于照並記。
終日見天,不知天之高也;終日見山,不知山之高也。惟行之而遠,乃知北苑用筆,無筆不大,無筆不高,無筆不遠。區區小技,倣其皮肉,而謂得之。愈近矣,愈細矣,愈卓矣。鼠穴獅耳,自謂無患,不悟道哉。惲香題畫句,壬午(1942)秋日,琴齋仁兄正之,張大千爰。

上款:「琴齋」即簡經綸(1888-1950),字琴石,號琴齋,別署千石,室名千石樓、萬石樓等。廣東番禺人。師從簡朝亮治經史,問書藝於康有為。曾任國民政府參事,廣州、上海僑務委員、局長等職。公餘喜研詩詞、書法及篆刻藝術,尤擅商周甲骨、金文,取材入印,馳名海上,與易孺、葉恭綽、吳湖帆、馬公愚等滬上名家往還密切。一九三七年,為避戰火,簡氏於該年冬遷香港,設袖海堂開課授徒。著有《琴齋壬戌印存》、《琴齋書畫印集》二輯、《甲骨集古詩聯》、《琴齋印留》、《千石齋印識》等。
