ZHIWEI TU (Chinese, b. 1951) Seeing More, 2012 Oil on canvas 24 x 20 inches (61.0 x 50.8 cm) Signed and dated upper right: Tu Zhiwei / Opam / 2012 Titled and signed verso: "Seeing More / by Zhiwei Opam" Growing up in rural China, Zhiwei Tu's passion for art began when a skilled artist was hired to come to his village to paint a portrait of Mao Zedong. Tu saw this as a challenge and began to excel at his craft. Over the past 40 years he has received many awards and is one of the only living artists to have a museum named after him. He currently resides in Chicago, Illinois.
