Crown Ducal China

Crown Ducal is a name used on some pieces of porcelain produced by A.G. Richardson and Co., Ltd. of England. In use since 1916, a variety of patterns have been created with the Crown Ducal stamp. Some of the most valuable motifs created are Art Deco-inspired designs by Charlotte Rhead from the 1930s through 1942, as well as Chintz pattern dishes. In 1974, Wedgwood bought the company that created Crown Ducal pieces. They merged with Irish based company Waterford Crystal in 1987 to create Waterford Wedgewood, and the company continued to merge and expand through the following decades.
