Diamond Heart Necklaces & Pendants

A diamond heart necklace offers a blend of luxury and love, its shape and shine a symbol of universal and eternal affection whose origins date as far back as the Ice Age. Images reminiscent of hearts, in fact, appear as early as Paleolithic era pictographs.

Over time, the connotations of the heart became central to the great cultures of the ancient world, as they believed the heart was the emotional nexus of the being. The ancient Egyptians and Greeks of the Mediterranean and the Aztec cultures in North America believed that the heart comprised parts of the soul and therefore were connected to our experience of emotion. It was out of this early belief structure that our contemporary connotation for the heart emerged.

With the rise of the bezel setting, one of the earliest jewelry settings developed, diamonds could become incorporated into heart-shaped motifs, bringing brilliance to an already beautiful form.
