Disney Posters & Prints

Movie posters and prints from Walt Disney are highly sought after by today’s collectors. Those who covet animation cels often collect early movie posters and prints, as their survival rate is very limited. As with any paper product, condition, fold marks, tape damage, or any other noted issues dictate value on the open market today.

As Disney became a huge success in the ‘30s, so did costs associated with production. Walt Disney mortgaged his home during the late ‘30s to assist in the production of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” His gamble paid off, as the production blew through its budget and cost the studio $1.5 million, but became a top-grossing film. After its premiere on December, 21, 1937, “Snow White” was the highest-grossing film in history until it was unseated by “Gone With the Wind” in 1939.
