Georg Jensen Flatware

In 1904 at the age of the 37, Danish silversmith Georg Jensen established his company planning to offer silver products of the highest quality that underscored the beauty of natural forms. Today, Georg Jensen flatware is among the most highly sought after and valuable silver utensils ever created. This is very remarkable considering that the company was not founded until the 20th century, long after many other notable flatware companies were established.

Georg Jensen flatware remains among the most iconic and celebrated utensils ever forged in silver. Over the more than hundred years of the company’s existence, Georg Jensen designs have created such a devout following that even pieces not created by the company are routinely deemed to be in the style of Georg Jensen.

In the early part of the 20th century, Georg Jensen began to include Art Nouveau motifs in their flatware to great acclaim. Thanks to this bolstered popularity, by 1924, the company expanded their retail presence from Copenhagen to Berlin, Paris, and New York.
