Marilyn Monroe Memorabilia

Considered one of the biggest female sex symbols of the 20th century, Marilyn Monroe is still being discovered by new generations. A look through retail outlets will reveal products designed with young adults in mind, such as wall hangings, clothing, and accessories.

Born as Norma Jean Mortenson, the pin-up-turned-actress changed her name to Marilyn Monroe at the beginning of her film career. After posing for magazines and advertising in the 1940s, Monroe turned her concentration to film, completing “The Asphalt Jungle” and “All About Eve” in 1950. In all, she made 29 films over her career, winning a Golden Globe in 1960 for the film, “Some Like It Hot.” She made countless public appearances, including singing a highly publicized version of "Happy Birthday To You" to President Kennedy at Madison Square Gardens in May 1962.

Conspiracy theories surrounding Monroe’s life and death seem to have propelled her overall stardom, as questions remain over her marriages, relationships, and upbringing. On the markets, her vintage photos, art, and memorabilia are bringing higher prices year after year.
