Paul Jaboulet Aine Cotes de Rhone

Tucked into France’s Rhône Valley, Paul Jaboulet Aîné has been in production for nearly two centuries. Established in 1834 by Antoine Jaboulet, the winery remains under family management today and grows Syrah, Roussanne, Viognier, and Marsanne. Its flagship wine is l’Hermitage La Chapelle. This feautures Syrah grapes from vines that are between 40 and 60 years old.

The winery’s land dates was famous in the 13th century as the spot where knight Chevalier de Stérimberg took refuge after the Albigensian Crusade. Included in the winery’s portfolio is a white wine named after de Stérimberg, le Chevalier de Stérimberg, that features 65% Marsanne and 35% Roussanne grapes harvested from 35-year-old vines.

In 2006, a leading Champagne and Bordeaux producer, Frey, purchased the winery.
