The Beatles Memorabilia

Considered one of rock and roll’s most influential groups, The Beatles have sold more records than any other musical artist or group in history. From 1960 to 1970, its four members—John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Star – headlined the pop culture scene with a mix of music reveling in idealism, rebellion, and counterculture. In the media, “Beatlemania” had begun. And in the U.S., The Beatles were the newest of the so-called “British Invasion.”

The Beatles’ early years were spent touring, but that ceased in 1966 after a performance at Candlestick Park in San Francisco. Despite their exodus from the stage, the group’s merchandising was a huge success through the decade, with fans purchasing everything from badges and gum to dolls and posters. No other musical group had capitalized so well on its fan base. The Beatles continued producing studio albums until 1970, when they disbanded and started solo careers.

Quick Facts

  • A signed Beatles poster is a rare find, but a signed Shea Stadium concert poster is almost an anomaly, since the poster itself is rare and has sold unsigned for over $100,000
  • The Beatles have appeared on many magazine covers through the years, including Life, Rolling Stone, TIME, Guitar, Newsweek, Teen Talk, and Billboard
  • Early, promotional pressings (or printings) of the Beatles “White album” have sold for thousands of dollars each. The albums were stamped, with the first number starting at, “A0000001.” Only several dozen copies exist
