Provenance: purchased at Förderkreis Keramikmuseum Staufen e.V., Staufen, in 2000; since then private collection Dreiländereck. Proof of purchase: Förderkreis Keramikmuseum Staufen e.V., Staufen, 17.09.2000, invoice amount 700 DM (approx. 358 €). Condition report: Very good overall impression. DEUTSCH: Hohlt, Görge 1930 München - 2022 Rosenheim. Schlegelvase. Heller Scherben mit rotbrauner Verlaufsglasur. Schlanker Korpus mit langem Hals. Unter dem Boden (19)76 dat. sowie Stempel «Neue Katze» und «G» über «H». H. 38, D. 8 cm. Provenienz: erworben 2000 im Förderkreis Keramikmuseum Staufen e.V., Staufen; seitdem Privatsammlung Dreiländereck. H. 33 cm. - Comp. exhibition catalogue 'Werkstatt Hohlt', München, 1995. - Görge Hohlt ranks among the most important ceramists of the 20th cent. in Germany. After his assistance with the setting up of the 'Hohlt' workshop with his father Otto Hohlt he studied at the Academy in Munich under professor Toni Stadler und professor Franz Eska and was educated as a ceramic-engineer. 1965 he took over the workshop 'Hohlt' in Katzbach/Rott am Inn and developped with his brother Albrecht the typical 'Hohlt-glazes'.
