Houzeau-Lancaster 9247. – Erste Gesamtausgabe der beiden Hauptwerke des britischen Mathematikers und Physikers John Keill (1671-1721). Seine 'Physica' erschien bereits 1701, die 'Astronomia' erst 1718, die vorliegende Ausgabe vereint erstmals die beiden Werke, die auf seinen an der Universität von Oxford gehaltenen Vorlesungen basieren. Keill war ein vehementer Verteidiger Newtons in dessen Prioritätsstreit um die Erfindung der Infinitesimalrechnung mit Leibniz, dem er in den 'Philosophical Transactions der Royal Society' ein Plagiat vorwarf. – Es fehlen zwei Tafeln (18 und 19, Mondkarten). Titel mit zahlreichen hs. Besitzvermerken, Innenspiegel mit Exlibris und Stempel. Am Schluss mit Feuchtigkeitsspur im Bug. Leicht gebräunt, braun- und stockfleckig. Die Tafeln an blattgroßen Falzen eingeklappt.
