        KIMURA BUZAN (1876-1942) Taisho (1912-1926) or Showa (1926–1989) era, circa 1925-1935 Omutsu-san (Miss Omutsu); a kakejiku (hanging scroll), ink and colours on silk in silk mounts, depicting a young woman with finely coiffed hair and a richly embroidered obi (sash) kneeling with her back to the viewer and contemplating flowers, partly concealed by a shoji (paper screen), a spider starting to make a web near its base, signed in gold paint and sealed at lower left Buzan; with a wood tomobako storage box inscribed outside Omutsu-san (Miss Omutsu), signed inside Buzan with seal Buzan and a cardboard slipcase.         Early 20th century Kakejiku, in ink, colour and gold on silk, depicting a mist-shrouded scene of the crucifixion of Torii Suneemon (1540-1575), a vassal of Okudaira Sadamasa, a thick, gnarled, truncated pine tree depicted diagonally in the bottom left corner, whilst Takeda Katsuyori sadistically watches with his troops at the base of the crucifix, signed Buzan with seal Buzan with double wood storage boxes, the outside of the inner cover titled Torii Suneemon, the inside of which is also inscribed Senko Buzan hitsu (painted by Buzan, my deceased father) by Kimura Takeo, signed Takeo with seal. 124cm x 51cm (48¾in x 20in).         Two folding fans, ougi-e, each painted in ink and colour; the first by Buzan, decorated with irises against a gold-paper ground on one side and a bat on a silver ground on the reverse, signed Buzan with seal Buzan; the other decorated on gold-paper ground with cherry blossoms on one side and kikyo on the other, signed Kado with seal Kado, the guards and struts of both fans of roiro; the first with tomobako titled and signed by the artist Buzan with seal Kimura Buzan.
