In the form of two handled urns on a plinth, enamel-decorated with pastoral scenes. Impressed "WEDGWOOD", signed "E Lessore". (H: 8 3/4, W: 6 1/2, D: 4 1/8 in.) Qty: (1) Provenance Skinner, European Furniture and Decorative Arts, Boston, July 12, 2013, Lot 922 Collection of Dr. Ellis F. Rubin and Suzanne Borow Rubin Examined under UV light. Both finials restored. One vase top section with fleabites to upper rim of banded decoration at mid-section of vase, small glaze chip to rim, restored handle, and small restoration to chip at lower edge of banded decoration at mid-section. A couple fleabites to raised decoration at platform. Three corners of base with small chips and losses. A few small glaze chips to back long edge of platform corner.

    Four Wedgwood hand-painted creamware dishes Émile-Aubert Lessore (French, 1805-1876), circa 1872 The first an oval lobed dish painted with a scene of mounted soldiers, hand titled to verso "The Free Company" and with impressed mark and date code "AHQ" for April 1862; the second a dish of identical form painted with a scene of children, the verso with indistinct London retailer''s sticker, and impressed mark and date code also "AHQ"; the third a scalloped plate painted to the well with a girl, the verso with impressed mark and date code "ACZ" for April 1872; the fourth a plate of identical form painted with a boy and girl, the verso with impressed mark and date code "FNU" for February 1866; sold together with a fifth small similarly decorated Petrus ReGout lozenge-form dish. (58.4cm.) Emile Lessore (1805-1876) was trained at Sevres and worked briefly at Minton circa 1858, before joining Wedgwood in 1859.
